Good Day everyone!  I’ve been MIA for the last two days due to my schedule which got a bit over-loaded.  I’ve got things back on track and wanted to pop in today and share one of my favorite product resources with you.
In the midst of working on a design plan for a client, which calls for a number of rugs,  I came across some real beauties!  Rugs have come a long way from low pile, flat weave, uninteresting designs to looks like this that will make a room come to life.  All of these rugs are available from one of my favorite rug sources, RugsUSA.com which offers great prices, great service and great delivery.
If you are in the market for a rug you should check out these rugs or the hundreds of others available at RugsUSA.com!  Oh, and did I forget to mention that they have a slew of rugs 50% during the month of February!

Growing up in Washington State, I wasn’t familiar with the concept of a sun porch.  Here in Atlanta a sun porch is almost a necessity and definitely an added luxury to any home.

If I had a sun porch, I’d love for it to look a little something like this.

The painted ceiling is so refreshing and makes you feel like you’re looking up to the sky.

I love the idea of striped roller shades versus curtain panels or heavier blinds.  The somewhat sheer fabric, bold yellow stripe and simple details are perfect for this casual, cottage inspired space.

The rug layout is just brilliant.  A peek of sisal surrounded by four smaller patterned rugs, adding to the visual impact.  And, check out the multi color tile floors, bringing the teal from above down to floor level.

And finally, the furnishing make this a perfect cottage style space.  White wicker, a window seat, light wood tones and fun pillows.

Now all I need is a glass of iced tea!

Most of my post this week have all been about design details, in one way or another, so I thought this would be the perfect image for my Friday Room of the Week~

The wallpapered alcoves with a circular patterned paper play up all the other round details within the room….ottoman, rug, candle sconces, accent table, chandelier and curved back chairs.

The coral, pink and red accent colors are positioned around the room so that everything feels connected and relatable.

The neutral textured rug serves as a backdrop for all the decorative elements while at the same time drawing you into the center of the room.

Every element in this space is a well thought out detail!

I hope your weekend is carefree and fun, but don’t forget to enjoy the details!

Years ago hardwood flooring became the #1 flooring choice over carpeting, but the look of hardwood can be elevated to a new level when laid in a chevron pattern.

I adore chevron pattern hardwoods for so many reasons:

*  they add visual interest to a room

*  they can make a room seem wider and longer

*  they add “pattern” that easily replaces what you’d get from an area rug

*  they’re beautiful

*  they’re a work of art

*  And, beyond wood, a chevron pattern floor can be created in all types of materials like brick, tile, marble and of course paint.

Here’s a round-up of Chevron Flooring to inspire and delight you!  And, while you’re checking out these images, take note of the decor in the rooms shown.  There are some beautiful details…furniture pieces, accessorizing, wall colors and lighting that I’m sure will be an inspiration to you too!

Enjoy!
