Hello!

I’m dropping in today to share some color inspiration and one of the most tried and true color palettes in decor…Black & White!

Always Classic

Always Bold

Always Clean and Crisp

Always Dynamic

and

Always Beautiful!

I love the black focus wall in this bedroom, adding just the right amount of drama and sophistication.

Black and White outdoors is an ideal color combination.  Greenery and flowers in any color will pop against a black and white setting.

A mostly white room with black accents is regal and classic.

Black punctuated around an all white room adds enough personality to make the space come alive.

Mixing different black and white patterns is a great way to create a chic space.  Keep the bolder pattern as the backdrop and flow into smaller prints.

Another bold black and white pattern creates a beautiful frame for this dining space.

The beauty of black and white is that any accent color will work with it.  Gold adds high style while silver would lend to a more contemporary feel.

If you’re afraid to paint an entire wall black think about a subtle black print wallpaper like this one.

Black is ideal as an accent in an all white kitchen.  The kitchen island is a perfect spot for black paint which will help ground the entire kitchen space.

Year’s ago I had a black and white kitchen with accents of red.  I never tired of the black and white color theme and love the idea that I could change the accent color when I wanted.  As a designer, black and white is a color combination I can always rely on to deliver style and impact!

Ok, who out there loves the color combination of black and white as much as I do?

P.S.  You may have noticed I changed my blog design a few weeks ago and really liked the look but one of the side affects was that when you received my blog post via email it not longer showed the email was from ConfettiStyle but rather WordPress.  I heard from several of you that you didn’t like just the WordPress identification ’cause you didn’t know the email was from me.  So, I made a change back to my original blog design for now until I can work out that glitch.  Thanks for understanding and your patience!

Color trends in home decor have  run the gamut over the years from all white rooms, rooms with black walls, red dining rooms to yellow kitchens.  While deeper, richer colors have been the backbone of design for a majority of people, it seems that pastels are making a comeback.

What I love about rooms decorated with pastels is the feeling of ease and grace these lighter tones give off.  There’s a sense of relaxation and comfort that pastels provide and an aire of understated elegance.

Pastels can be just as effective in a modern space as they are in a space that is traditional or vintage inspired.

While I don’t think I’ll adapt my personal style towards pastels, I do know I’ll infuse a few pastel accessories into my decor for spring and will certainly be sporting a few pastel fashion elements as well from my new favorite on-line shop, Ruche.com.

So, how are you embracing the PASTEL TREND…in your decor,  fashion or both?  I’d love to know.

I’ve been in the process of updating my inspiration board and one of the greatest inspirations so far this year is the gorgeous EMERALD GREEN color that I am seeing everywhere, from fashion, to jewelry, to home decor.

Emerald Green surrounded by lighter tones of the color will give a room depth.  And, mixed with chocolate brown, green makes the space lively.

Navy blue and white take on a less traditional feel when green is thrown into the mix.  Use green in three or five places throughout the room to make the color pop feel intentional and connected.

I’m so loving this color, I decided to pull together a design inspiration board based on it.

So are you loving Emerald Green as much as I am?

or is there another color that’s inspiring you?

Tango Anyone?

Tangerine Tango that is!

Last week, Pantone, the world’s leading color forecast company announced the 2012 Color Of  The Year and I am so happy with this vibrant and bold choice.

According to Pantone, “Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish-orange, provides the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward.”

What I love about the color Tangerine is how great it looks with just about any other color or hue you pair it with and how great a color it is in fashion and personal accessories.

Pantone has spoken, and the 2011 Color of the year is HONEYSUCKLE!

I was thrilled when I read about the Color of The Year, not only because of how bold and dynamic Honeysuckle is, but because of how this color can make a room come to life and energize whatever it adorns.  Here are a few inspiring spaces that have been touched with a bit of Honeysuckle.

House Beautiful

I love how the honeysuckle pillows provide a vibrant pop against this camel sofa–classic yet modern.

As a backdrop, a toned down version of honeysuckle provides the right amount of depth and energy to give this room a warm, comfortable vibe.

Southern Accents

I love when a room makes a bold statement.  The honeysuckle walls combined with chocolate furnishings and creamy white accents make this room feminine without being too girly.  Even my husband said he could live comfortably in this room.

One of the hottest color combos is honeysuckle and lime green.  The black accents help to ground everything, without taking away any of the rooms energy.

Exquisite Furniture Design

Not a kitchen for the faint of heart.  After seeing this space, I’d paint my kitchen Honeysuckle in a minute.  And, isn’t that chandelier just darling?

Not only do I love Honeysuckle in home decor, I love the color in paper goods too!  Several years ago, I decided to develop a signature gift wrap for myself, combining Honeysuckle and Red.  Now, every time I give a gift, it’s wrapped in my signature colors, giving my gifts a real sense of personalization.

Here are a few photos of my wrappings.

So what do you think of the color Honeysuckle?  Does it lift your spirits?
