I’m a fan of HGTV, the network and the magazine.  After touring the HGTV Home pop-up shop here in Atlanta last summer, I’ve been keeping tabs on the HGTV furniture collection to see what’s new. The collection of furniture and accent pieces are a compilation of the ideas and vision of the HGTV design talent that we see  on TV.  The pieces range from classic designs and silhouettes to pieces in unique finishes and style details.
Here are a few of my faves from the collection.

Happy Friday!
I don’t think I have shared with you some the photos I took at Scott Antique Market this month.
Scott’s this month was brimming with fantastic finds.  Since the Atlanta Gift and Home Furnishings show was in town and buyers from all over the world were in town for it, the vendors at Scott’s really upped their game and loaded their booths with all kinds of home décor and furniture.  I didn’t get to snap as many photos as I wanted because I was dragging around a cart full of items but I did take enough to wet your appetite.

There were lots of tall armoires at this show including this beauty.  I love the circle design on the mirrored doors.

All in all the Scott Antique Market was really good.  There was lots to see and lots to buy.  I picked up a couple of pieces of milk glass, two vintage fans, some brass trays and some vintage jewelry.
Until next months edition of Treasure Hunting!

I’ve written about my love of chairs on many occasions and think every home needs a “happy” chair, one that if playful and distinct in its style, one with a bit of a split personality.

One of my favorite ways to achieve a “happy chair” look is with pattern mixing.  I love the look for chairs that have one pattern on the front and a different pattern on the sides or back.  The more pattern mixing the better!

 Here are few inspiring looks…

This classic Louis chair is the perfect silhouette for pattern mixing and an easy DIY project if you’re the handy type.

I love these wingback chairs and the playful mix of fabrics used to give them their distinct style.

When pattern mixing don’t be afraid to mix leather with cotton fabrics….the contrast can be stunning.

If you’ve got painting skills, try hand painting a design onto your chair.

The fabrics used on this chair give it a vintage vibe!

One of my favorite sources for “‘ready to roll” fun fabric chairs is Happy Chair. I wrote about their distinct style and creativity here!

I hope you had a great weekend.  I was able to get a little thrift shopping in but was slowed down by the pinched nerve in my neck with is causing numbness in my right (writing, do-everything) hand!  I start physical therapy this week so I’m hoping that will solve the issue!  Wish me luck!

One of the other things I did this weekend was catch up on some magazine reading and while flipping through the latest issue of House Beautiful,  a PBTeen lampshade caught my eye.  It intrigued me enough that I immediately headed over the PBTeen website to see what other things they had to offer.

After spending some time on their site, I was amazed at how many cool things they had that were not only appropriate for a teenager, but also great for someone like me who is about to celebrate her 21st wedding anniversary this week!

Here’s what caught my attention:

The Ooh La La Swivel Chair was my other favorite. How great would this look in a girly office or craft space.  $238.99 (for lime green) $349.00 for other colors!

So I know I’ve got you ready to hop in your car and head to the closet PB Teen store.

Good Morning everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend.

My weekend was a little low-key with lots of time spent working on a design project, a little thrift shopping and lunch out with the hubby on Sunday afternoon.

I thought I’d drop in today and share a few photos of a color that is showing up more and more in the design world these days…PINK!

Once reserved only for little girls rooms, Pink, in different tones and shades is becoming a sophisticated color to decorate with. While the femininity of pink cannot be ignored, mixed with classic colors, dark tones, lots of white or off-beat colors, Pink takes on a whole new feel.

Pinned Image

I love how the pink chairs in this classic blue and white room give it a more energy and life.  Notice how the pink shows up in a couple other places as well ( chandelier shades, curtain tie-backs), making it an intentional addition to the decor.

Pinned Image

Surrounded by black and white, this pink sofa is totally chic!  The black piping takes it from utterly feminine to a modern classic.

Pinned Image

The deeper shade of pink used in this closet keeps it feminine but with a sophisticated edge.  What girl wouldn’t love this space!

Pinned Image

Southern style with an updated feel!. The combination of green wicker furniture and pink toile fabric give this space a happy, updated feel.

Pinned Image

If you love pink and really want to create a stylish space, just add grey.  Touches of black thrown in will make the space even “richer” looking.

Pinned Image

A  pop of pink can go a long way.  Introducing pink via accent chairs it a great way to add the energy of the color without overwhelming the decor.

Pinned Image

Love the dark charcoal sofas with pink accent pillows. Just enough of the color to add an elegant vibe.

Pinned Image

Mixed with lots of white (above and below), pink is so refreshing!  Layering different shades of pink together, as in the bookcases below, makes the room more interesting and dimensional.

Pinned Image

Pinned Image

Going for a preppy look….combine pink and orange together and surround it with lots of white.

Pinned Image

A more lavender version of pink combined with dark grey is so sophisticated.  Punches of other bright colors enhance the contemporary feel of the room.

Pinned Image

To create a more formal and elegant look using pink, combine ivory and champagne colors with dustier shades of pink.

Pinned Image

And, for a fun and energetic room, black and primary colors combine with pink will do the trick.

So what do you think, has pink gone for being just a “baby color” to a “new classic color” to decorate with?

Wishing you all good things for the week ahead!

This week is going to be a hectic one, so I thought I’d start off the week with some beautiful flower images.  Florals are a hot trend right now and with spring in full swing, it’s the perfect time to infuse a few blooms into your wardrobe, decor or everyday life.
